Behind the scenes, new methods of studying odors are being developed that require novel engineering. These methods could help overcome the perceptual limitations that reduce the quality of subjective reports, and thereby allow more interesting types of measurements. I am currently eating the brunt of these costs, so progress is slow, but with your help, I can more easily provide these new tools to qualia explorers.
